What makes this case different
No bot joins the meeting
Note-taker bots appear in the participant list as a guest with a name like “Someone's assistant”. That is a conversation of its own, before yours has even started. SubLive lives in your browser, so the call has exactly the participants it had a minute ago.
Your microphone stays off unless you ask
The extension reads audio the tab plays, which is everyone except you. Your own voice is used in exactly one case: when you save a conversation and then, as a separate choice, ask for your replies to be part of the transcript. Even then it is never translated and never shown as subtitles — it only fills in your side of the record.
The words your team actually uses
Product names, internal terms and client names come from your own glossary, so a call about a product called “Runway” does not turn into a call about an airstrip.

The language being spoken is detected on its own, including when the call switches between two of them.

Subtitles appear in a floating window that stays visible while you take notes in another app.
What it will not do
The desktop Zoom and Teams applications are not captured — SubLive hears Chrome tabs, not other programs on your computer. Join the meeting in the browser and it works.
The output is not a certified translation and not minutes of the meeting. Check anything with consequences against what was actually said.
Consent is your responsibility. Several US states require every participant to agree before a conversation may be processed, and the extension cannot ask for you.
Questions people ask about this
Will other participants know I am using it?
Nothing appears in the meeting: no extra participant, no notification, no change to what they see or hear. That is exactly why the law, not the interface, decides whether you may use it — read the Recording & Consent notice before a call where consent is required.
Does it work with Zoom and Microsoft Teams?
In the browser, yes: Zoom Web and Teams in a tab work the same as Google Meet. The installed desktop apps do not, because their audio never reaches Chrome.
Is the meeting recorded?
No. Audio is processed in memory and never written to disk. A text transcript is saved only if you switch that on yourself. On a personal account the extension downloads it to you when the conversation ends and the server deletes it 24 hours later; a company keeps it in its admin panel for as long as the company decided, up to 30 days.
Can I keep a summary of the call?
Yes, if transcript saving is on. A saved conversation can be summarised by AI, and you can have that summary emailed to you when the call ends. Both are off until you turn them on.
