Terms of Service
Version 2026-09-04 · Last updated 4 September 2026
The agreement between you and us for using SubLive.
1. Who we are
SubLive is operated by Mykhailo Kulinich, individual entrepreneur (FOP), Ukraine, 21 Nadii Kurchenko St., apt. 4, 84300 Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, Ukraine ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
Support: [email protected] — we answer within two business days. Privacy questions: [email protected].
2. What the service does
SubLive transcribes speech from audio you provide and translates it into a language you choose, then displays the result as subtitles in real time.
3. AI output is not a certified translation
Transcription and translation are produced by machine learning models. They can and will contain errors: mishearings, wrong terminology, missing nuance, and mistakes in grammatical gender or case.
The output is NOT a certified, sworn, or legally binding translation, and must not be relied upon as one. Do not use SubLive output as the sole basis for hiring decisions, contractual agreements, medical decisions, legal proceedings, or any other decision where an error would cause harm.
Where an accurate rendering matters legally, engage a qualified human translator.
4. Your responsibility for consent
You are solely responsible for having whatever consent the law requires before processing a conversation through SubLive.
Requirements differ by jurisdiction. Several US states require the consent of ALL parties to a conversation. EU law requires a lawful basis and transparency towards everyone whose speech is processed.
We provide tooling to help: a blocking notice you must accept before subtitles can start on a tab, and a consent log you can inspect at any time. We cannot know your circumstances and we do not obtain consent on your behalf.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use SubLive for covert recording, surveillance of individuals, or processing conversations of people who have not been informed. See the Acceptable Use Policy for the full list.
6. Hours, payment and delivery
You buy hours of subtitles. Your balance runs down while the subtitle mode is switched on, not per translated sentence: an hour of subtitles is an hour, whether the conversation was talkative or mostly silent.
Time is metered in 15-second steps and charged for time already used, rounded up to the nearest second when a session ends. Pausing the subtitles stops the meter, and reconnecting after a dropped connection does not start a new charge.
You can share a code with other people so that their subtitles are paid from your balance. While they run subtitles, your balance runs down once for each of them: two people using your code at the same time means your hour lasts thirty minutes. You choose how long the code stays valid and can revoke it at any time. When the code expires, or your balance runs out, their sessions stop and they are told why.
There are two ways to pay, and the difference between them is what happens to hours you did not use. A one-off pack is bought once, added to whatever is already on your balance, and has no expiry date: those hours stay there until you use them, nothing renews and nothing is charged again unless you buy again.
A monthly plan is a subscription. It renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and at that moment the hours it granted for the period that has just ended EXPIRE: unused plan hours are not carried into the next period. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancelling stops the next charge, and the hours of the period you have already paid for stay usable until that period ends and expire with it. If you also hold hours from a one-off pack, they are separate and are never expired by a plan: plan hours are always spent first, so the pack you paid for outright is the last thing to go.
Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which sells SubLive hour packs as merchant of record. Your purchase contract for the payment itself is with Paddle; the service is provided by us under these Terms. Paddle's own terms apply to the transaction and are shown at checkout.
Prices exclude taxes. Paddle calculates and collects any VAT or sales tax due in your country and issues the invoice. Refunds, including the 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and the UK, are described in the Refund Policy.
Delivery is immediate and electronic. Your hours are added to your balance as soon as Paddle confirms the payment — usually within seconds, and in any case within one hour. Nothing is shipped and nothing needs to be installed to receive them: the balance is visible at https://sublive.app/app/billing and in the browser extension. If the hours have not appeared an hour after payment, write to [email protected] with the Paddle receipt and we will fix it by hand.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any decision made on the basis of translated or transcribed output, nor for indirect or consequential losses.
Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Third-party AI providers we depend on can degrade or fail; in that case the service may return untranslated text or stop temporarily.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend accounts that breach the Acceptable Use Policy.
On deletion, your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Minimum age
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to the processing of your personal data on your own. Where the applicable age is lower than 16, you may use the service from that age with the permission of a parent or guardian.
We ask you to confirm this when you register. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below the applicable age, we close it and delete the data.
11. Where the service is available
We do not offer SubLive in countries subject to comprehensive sanctions by the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United States, and we may block access from them. This applies regardless of the language you want subtitles in: our speech providers support several Arabic dialects, but supporting a dialect is not the same as serving a sanctioned country.
These Terms are governed by the law of Ukraine. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live.
12. Changes
We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days in advance. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
